LG Display has announced its first monitor equipped with next-generation OLED technology. The company announced the start of mass production of fourth-generation OLED panels featuring Primary RGB Tandem technology and introduced the LG UltraGear OLED 27GX700A as the first product to utilize these panels.
LG unveils its next-generation OLED monitor
The 27-inch panel offers a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Able to reach a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, the display stands out with its 280Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response time. Providing 99.5% DCI-P3 coverage for color accuracy, the monitor is aimed at users who prioritize image quality.
The UltraGear 27GX700A is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and VESA ClearMR 13000 certified. These certifications document the panel’s performance, providing high contrast ratios and image clarity even during fast motion. The display also features LG’s own ultra-low reflection mirror technology. This technology reduces screen glare by 99%, improving user comfort, especially in brightly lit environments.
The fourth-generation OLED panel offers approximately 20% more energy efficiency than its predecessor, the third-generation panels. With this improvement, LG aims to improve the user experience without compromising both image quality and energy consumption.
The monitor also offers various eye health safety measures. In addition to features such as flicker-free operation, low blue light emission, and glare reduction, the UL-certified product meets Eyesafe CPF60 standards, demonstrating that the monitor prioritizes eye comfort for long-term use.
LG has not yet announced an official release date or price for the monitor. However, the UltraGear 27GX700A is positioned as a significant alternative in the high-performance OLED monitor market for both gamers and professional users.
