LG Unveils AI-Powered Gaming Monitor!

Ana sayfa / News

While the tech world is focused on the upcoming CES trade show next month, LG has made an exciting announcement for gamers. The company introduced its new series of monitors integrating artificial intelligence technology. Called LG UltraGear evo, this new series consists of three different models boasting high-end hardware specifications. The common thread among all models is their impressive 5K resolution and AI upscaling technology that enhances image quality.

The flagship models in the announced series are listed with the codenames 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B. The numbers at the beginning of the model names represent screen sizes, each offering technologies tailored to different user needs. The 39-inch GX9 model, in particular, stands out with its ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio OLED panel. This screen allows users to enjoy dual-mode viewing. You can choose to use a 165Hz refresh rate at 5K2K resolution, or switch to a 330Hz refresh rate at WFHD resolution for games requiring fast response times.

The more compact 27-inch GM9 model takes a different approach instead of OLED. This model uses the “new” MiniLED technology, which promises brighter images compared to OLED screens. LG states that this new panel structure prevents the blooming issue, a common complaint in MiniLED monitors. This development is seen as a critical improvement, especially for gamers who value brightness and contrast balance.

The largest model in the family, the 52-inch G9, is poised to take up a huge amount of space on your desk. With its curved design and 12:9 panoramic viewing angle, this monitor aims to immerse you completely in the gaming world. Despite its massive size, the model doesn’t compromise on performance, offering a smooth experience with a 240Hz refresh rate at native 5K2K resolution. Furthermore, the panel technology used in the GM9 model, given that LG is known to manufacture for Apple, could also be a harbinger of the long-awaited new Apple Pro Display XDR update.

These three impressive monitors introduced by LG will be physically showcased at CES next month and presented to attendees. No official announcement has yet been made regarding the price tags or release dates of these high-end monitors. Details are expected to become clearer at the trade show.

So, if you were to buy a gaming monitor, would you prefer an OLED panel that offers perfect blacks, or the next-generation MiniLED technology that promises higher brightness?
