As part of his plan to turn X (Twitter) into a super app, Elon Musk recently announced the activation of the job posting feature. In response, Microsoft has begun work on adding games to the LinkedIn platform to appeal to more users. Here are the details
LinkedIn starts testing its gaming feature
LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, was founded primarily for people who wanted to network and learn for professional purposes. Today, the platform, which is also frequently used for job postings, has rolled up its sleeves so that users can spend more time.
TechCrunch has learned and confirmed that LinkedIn is working on a new gaming experience. It turns out it will do so by capitalizing on the same wave of puzzle craze that helped simple games like Wordle reach viral success and millions of players.
It is estimated that the new feature, which will first start with games called “Queens”, “Inference” and “Crossclimb”, will have hundreds of games in the future. Reverse engineers managed to find clues about games on LinkedIn.
Researcher Nima Owji said one idea LinkedIn is experimenting with is organizing player scores by workplace and “ranking” companies based on those scores. A LinkedIn spokesperson confirmed that it is working on the game but said there is no launch date yet.
“We’re working on adding puzzle-based games to the LinkedIn experience to unlock some fun, deepen relationships and hopefully spark conversation. Stay tuned!”
