CI Games has announced that Lords of the Fallen 2 has entered development. In the financial report published by the company, it was stated that the game will be developed with Unreal Engine 5 and will be released for current generation consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Lords of the Fallen 2 development accelerates
While gameplay details have yet to be shared, CI Games has revealed that Lords of the Fallen 2 will have a more “commercial” art style and narrative compared to the first game from 2014. This suggests that the development team is aiming to bring the dark fantasy world and story to a wider audience.
Improvements to core gameplay systems and new game modes in addition to the single player story mode are also planned. One of the most notable developments is that CI Games will release Lords of the Fallen 2 on the PC platform exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
The company announced that it has received a “major investment” from Epic Games and accordingly, it will not be available on Steam for at least a while. While 2026 is targeted as the release date of the game, more information about the development process will be shared over the next year.
Fans of the first Lords of the Fallen and the Soulslike genre can get excited for this sequel from CI Games. The development team looks to build on the first game in terms of production value, visual quality, and both single-player and multiplayer experience.
