Windows 365 Link features announced
Like its competitors, Windows 365 Link aims to reach the corporate market. It is presented as an ideal offer for companies that have already adopted Windows 365, a Microsoft service that enables Windows to run from the cloud. So the device does not run any data locally.
Because it runs Windows instances from the cloud, any user with an account on the service will be able to log in to the machine and access its programmes and files. In other words, an experience will be offered as if there is more than one computer in a computer. This service will stand out as a feature that can be very useful in working environments with shared desks and computers.
Pavan Davaluri, President of Microsoft Windows, says of the device:
“We want to make it as simple and efficient as possible to access your computer in the cloud. Our goal is really to make the device as transparent as possible…”
Link 365 can be switched on in seconds. It also uses its own chip to improve the quality of video calls via Microsoft Teams or Cisco Webex. The computer only has a basic operating system designed to connect it to a computer in the cloud.
The device comes with 2 USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C 3.2 port, a DisplayPort port, an HDMI port and an Ethernet port, as well as a power port on the back. There is a single USB-A 3.2 port on the front of the device. The model is also compatible with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The new mini PC will also be treated as a device in the Microsoft Copilot Plus series, a designation previously only given to laptops in the Copilot Plus series. However, Microsoft believes it will make a difference to its main competitors in the niche space by using built-in AI as a key selling point.
