MacBook Pro could come with a touchscreen OLED display!

Ana sayfa / News

While Apple has just released its latest M5-powered MacBook Pro models, exciting rumors about the next generation have begun circulating in tech circles. According to Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, known for his reliable sources, Apple may be changing its long-standing habits with the next major MacBook Pro update, and this could be reflected in the pricing.

For a long time, Apple was rumored to be working on a touchscreen MacBook Pro. Gurman notes that this plan is still in place, but has been postponed beyond the end of 2025 due to issues with the OLED display supply chain. This major innovation will bring a feature that has been standard on Windows laptops for years to MacBook Pro users for the first time. Apple has resisted this technology in the past, experimenting with alternative solutions like the Touch Bar.

The touchscreen isn’t the only leaked information about the upcoming model. Rumors suggest the new MacBook Pros will feature OLED display technology, which offers much more vibrant colors and true blacks. The devices, which will also feature thinner and lighter chassis, are expected to be powered by the as-yet-unannounced M6 series processors. Other details being discussed include a punch-hole-style front camera, similar to the Dynamic Island on iPhones, and reinforced hinges to prevent the screen from wobbling during touch operation.

However, these exciting upgrades will come at a cost. Gurman predicts that the addition of costly technologies like OLED and touchscreens could increase the price of the new MacBook Pros by “a few hundred dollars” compared to current models. It’s also rumored that Apple will switch from Touch ID to Face ID, a facial recognition system, but it could be a few years before this feature arrives on Macs.

Before all these major changes, Apple is expected to introduce an intermediate model early next year, powered by the current M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. In this context, Apple is preparing for a revolutionary change in the Mac lineup, and this change could completely revolutionize the laptop experience. What are your thoughts? Would the addition of a touchscreen to the MacBook Pro be a factor in your purchasing decision?
