During Gamescom Opening Night Live, many new games were announced. The surprise presentation of the night was the new Mafia game. The series, which has been silent for years, is preparing to return with Mafia: The Old Country. So what will the new Mafia game tell?
Mafia: The Old Country trailer released
2K Games and Hangar 13 have revealed many details about the new Mafia project. Mafia: The Old Country will take the crime series back to Sicily in the 1900s. Thus, it will revitalize the series after Mafia 3.
In the trailer, Hangar 13 deals with the early days of the Italian mafia. The game will take place before the First World War and will tell the story of how the mafia culture was formed in Italy. The developer team stated that they will share more information about The Old Country at The Game Awards.
The Old Country is actually the name of a mission Mafia 2’s main character Vito Scaletta went on in Italy during World War II. This shows that there may be an emphasis on the character of Vito. Of course, not much detail was given about the game.
Hangar 13 developed Mafia: Definitive Edition and Mafia 3, the other titles in the Mafia series. Therefore, it is possible to say that the game is highly anticipated. However, let us remind you that no details about the release date or gameplay have been shared yet.
The Mafia game series started with Mafia 1, first released in 2002, followed by Mafia 2 in 2010 and Mafia 3 in 2016. These three games were presented to players again in 2020 with their remakes. According to the latest developments, one more production is being added among these games.
