Mangmi just dropped a teaser for its upcoming handheld, the Pocket Max, and it’s already raising eyebrows. The short clip gives us a good look at the device’s design and a few standout specs including a fast 144Hz OLED display. It’s Mangmi’s loudest statement yet in the handheld arena.

The teaser confirms the Pocket Max will launch in black, though other colors might follow. Its asymmetrical joysticks are surrounded by LED rings, while the D-pad borrows the diamond-outline flair seen on the Mangmi Air X. That same angular accent shows up again on the right side of the handheld, helping tie the design together.

It also sports dual front-facing speakers, sandwiched between Android navigation buttons, offering a clear nod to handheld gaming purists. Around the back, you’ll find a large air intake vent for the cooling fan and two rear buttons. Up top, a second vent sits opposite the power and volume buttons. Down below? A USB-C port, TF card slot, and headphone jack all neatly aligned.

Core Ultra 7 270K Plus benchmark shows modest gain over 265K

Intel’s Core Ultra 7 270K Plus surfaces on Geekbench with 4 extra efficiency cores and a 3.7% multi-core lead over the 265K.

One of the headlining specs is the Pocket Max’s 7-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That’s larger and faster than the AYN Odin 3, which tops out at 6 inches and 120Hz. Mangmi hasn’t shared the screen resolution yet, but current whispers suggest 1080p.

The teaser also flashes a glimpse of the device’s power capabilities. The Pocket Max supports both 5V and 9V input and can draw up to 27W. That should translate to pretty quick charging times though the battery size itself remains a mystery for now.

Notably, the Pocket Max doesn’t include a trigger lock for switching modes a feature some rivals have. It also skips extra shoulder buttons, unlike the Konkr Pocket Fit. That said, it still includes stacked shoulder buttons and two additional rear buttons, giving gamers decent input flexibility without overwhelming the layout.

Here’s a quick rundown of confirmed features from the teaser:

Mangmi’s teaser keeps things brief but punchy. It shows off just enough to build serious hype, especially around the display and control scheme. There’s still plenty we don’t know like the chipset, RAM, and battery life, but what’s here already paints a confident picture.

This isn’t a half-step update. The Pocket Max looks locked in for serious handheld heat. Expect more details soon, but until then, the OLED flex speaks for itself.
