Marvel Zombies, the highly anticipated animated series that brings the Marvel universe into a zombie parallel universe, is finally available. Announced in 2021 and plagued by rumors of cancellation due to development setbacks, the series premiered on Disney+ this week.
Marvel Zombies Debuts
Marvel’s zombie universe first gained immense popularity with the “Zombies?!” episode of the What If… animated series. Following this popularity, the concept was approved for its own series in 2021, and it also made its big screen debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, featuring a zombie version of Strange.
Despite its announcement, its prolonged absence from Disney events led to rumors of the series’ cancellation. However, Marvel released a statement late last year regarding the series’ progress and announced its official release date.
Marvel Zombies, which launched a week before its original release date, aims to explore the zombie universe in more detail. The series features a diverse voice cast.
Renowned actors like Awkwafina, David Harbour, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Dominique Thorne, and Iman Vellani voice their characters in this series. Todd Williams also brings the beloved character Blade to life.
