MediaTek announces its new processor: the Dimensity 7360

Ana sayfa / News

Following its flagship Dimensity 9500, MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 7360, a new processor aimed at the mid-range segment. Despite its new name, this chip isn’t entirely redesigned from scratch; it’s a refreshed version of last year’s Dimensity 7300. Here are the details.

The Dimensity 7360 features a familiar core layout consisting of four 2.5 GHz Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. While this is a standard architecture for this segment, MediaTek aims to differentiate itself with software optimizations.

The chip supports Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0. This technology balances visual quality and performance, delivering smoother frame rates while also controlling battery consumption. The company claims this chip delivers up to 20 percent better frame rates and efficiency compared to its competitors. However, these figures will need to be confirmed with actual device performance.

On the imaging side, the Imagiq 950 ISP (Image Signal Processor) supports cameras up to 200 megapixels. It also features features such as real-time HDR video recording, motion-compensated noise reduction, and faster live focus. MediaTek claims that its HDR video can offer over 50 percent wider dynamic range than its competitors.

The Dimensity 7360 offers better on-screen imaging performance with 10-bit color support on WFHD+ panels thanks to MiraVision 955 technology. Connectivity options include 5G, VoNR, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth LE Audio, and Lightning Connect, which accelerates Bluetooth connections.

For artificial intelligence, the NPU 655 supports mixed-precision data types to increase efficiency in visual and camera-related tasks. Finally, the chip supports LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, as well as UFS 3.1 storage.
