As we approach the final quarter of the year, developments in the Android space are rapidly accelerating. Like every year, new flagship processors from Qualcomm and MediaTek are expected to be announced. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is anticipated to be unveiled on October 21, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is also rumored to be announced earlier in October. Recent reports reveal that the Dimensity 9400 will deliver significantly improved performance. Here are the details:
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Will Provide 30% More Performance
The upcoming flagship processor from MediaTek, the Dimensity 9400, is expected to offer superior performance compared to its predecessor, as revealed by recent updates from Digital Chat Station. The new chip is said to show a 30% improvement in single-core performance over last year’s model, approaching the performance level of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
According to benchmark tests, the Dimensity 9300 scored 2,207 points on Geekbench 6.2, while the Dimensity 9400 is projected to achieve around 2,869 points. This score is close to the 2,884 points scored by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in single-core performance.
The 30% performance increase is attributed to MediaTek’s collaboration with Arm, resulting in the development of the Cortex-X925 processor core, codenamed Blackhawk. Additionally, it has been revealed that the new processor consumes only 30% of the power used in a Gen 3 process.
Expected to be produced using TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing technology, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 looks set to excel in both single-core performance and power efficiency. What do you think about this? Share your thoughts in the comments.
