Apple has developed its car technologies every year, and keeps expanding the features to more car brands. Last month, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would make the digital vehicle key feature in its E-Class Sedan models. Digital Vehicle Key can be shared up to 16 people
Apple’s car technologies are now available in a lot of car brands, including BMW, BYD, Genesis, Hyundai, and more select models. The Digital Vehicle Key feature allows you to add a key to the Wallet app on your iPhone or Watch, then you can lock, unlock, and start your car without a physical key. Now, one of the best automakers, Mercedes-Benz, is adding the feature to its select models.
According to the official website, the new E-Class Sedan model will have the support for the digital key, as part of the KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package addition. Mercedes-Benz explains, “The vehicle can recognise several users at once, and the Digital Vehicle Key can be shared with up to 16 people. Sharing is possible via AirDrop®, iMessage®, and other messaging services. The recipient can then add it to his/her own Apple Wallet.”

The feature allows you to reach to your car without a physical key, but it might be different for select brands because it depends on the technology of the automaker. Select vehicles will have the support for remote lock and unlock via the digital vehicle key.
