Mercedes has embarked on an exciting collaboration that will thrill both car enthusiasts and gamers. Teaming up with Electronic Arts and Tencent, they will bring Need for Speed Mobile into selected Mercedes models’ cockpits. This means that Mercedes owners will be able to compete in the virtual world even when stuck in traffic. Here are the details…
Mercedes is bringing Need for Speed into the cockpit
This cool feature will initially be available only in China and on Mercedes models equipped with the third-generation MBUX system. MBUX stands for Mercedes-Benz User Experience, which is the multimedia system of the car, essentially the smart screen you use to control everything related to your vehicle.
The company plans to integrate this game into the system within this year. Thus, it will directly come to your car with a small update. When? It depends on when Need for Speed Mobile will be released. Currently, the game is expected to launch in the summer of 2024.
In the game, you’ll be able to compete with other players or AI, just like in other Need for Speed games. The best part is, you don’t need to be behind the wheel to play this game. When your car is stopped, passengers can also enjoy the game using Bluetooth control devices connected to the MBUX system.
Moreover, for safety reasons, playing games while the vehicle is in motion will not be possible. This way, everyone’s safety will be ensured. Mercedes doesn’t plan to limit this innovation to just MBUX; they also intend to add such games to future multimedia systems like MBOS.
If all goes well, these games may soon be available in more Mercedes models globally. What do you think of this innovation? You can share your thoughts in the comments section below.
