Kevin Binder, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz in China, emphasized that China is not only the world’s largest car market, but also the fastest growing market for electric vehicles. Binder stated that Mercedes-Benz has full confidence in cooperation with China to achieve the net zero emission target.

On the other hand, BMW board member Jochen Goller drew attention to the challenges of global trade and emphasized the importance of free trade. Stating that BMW’s cooperation with China offers great opportunities not only in terms of trade but also technological development, Goller said that China is on its way to becoming the global leader in electric vehicles.

Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen, spoke quite ambitiously. Blume said that Volkswagen’s goal is to become the largest international automobile manufacturer in China by 2030. To achieve this goal, Volkswagen plans to cooperate more with local manufacturers in China and join forces, especially in areas such as software, autonomous driving and battery technologies.

Strategic partnerships with China during the world’s transition to electric vehicles could change the balance in the industry. How do you think these collaborations will affect the future of electric vehicles? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
