With the advancement of artificial intelligence, the number of content creators adapting this technology in social media has significantly increased. Now, people can create videos, photos, and other content from scratch with just a few clicks thanks to AI. Now, Meta has announced that it will add tags to content creators who use artificial intelligence. Here are the details…
Meta to combat misleading videos with AI tags
Meta, the parent company of social media giants like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, announced on Friday that it will introduce a feature related to content creators who use artificial intelligence. Following the activation of the AI option on YouTube in recent weeks, this feature is now coming to Meta platforms. With this option, we can label content that has been manipulated or created by artificial intelligence as “Produced by AI.”
According to the official announcement made, Meta will start labeling videos, audio, and images as “Produced by AI” if its systems detect the contribution of artificial intelligence or if the creator mentions it in the upload description.
Meta also stated that it will use a more prominent tag in content where there is a high risk of misleading users financially, aiming to prevent accounts that manipulate people’s emotions and finances by generating content with AI.
Monika Bickert, Meta’s head of content policy, explained the tagging feature, saying, “This general approach gives people more information about the content so they can better evaluate it and understand the context if they see the same content elsewhere.”
With this feature, users will be able to identify content created by advanced AI systems like Sora and approach it accordingly.
