Meta made a statement today. Bad news for the popular messaging app Tuned. This application, used mainly by couples, has now reached its last days. Because Meta has decided to end this little experiment. So Tuned is shutting down.

Two years ago, Facebook announced that it was developing an app for couples. Tuned is built on human interaction, just like the company’s other platforms. It was developed as part of Meta’s NPE (new product experimentation) project to understand and observe couples and their relationships.
According to the number of downloads, we can say that it’s been pretty successful because it reached 1 million downloads in 2 years. So it was making money. But still, Meta made a decision. So Tuned is shutting down.
Meta says it’s a messaging app designed for couples to share significant milestones in their relationships. This includes features where they can privately share important moments or how they’re feeling.
Also, many of the features we saw on the other apps appeared here first. For example, thanks to the integration of the application with Spotify, you can go beyond sharing just the tracklist of songs link. But it’s not all.
It is possible to share many things, especially photos, notes, videos, voice messages, and watch or listen lists. Since it is used by couples, as we mentioned, intimate content can be shared with a password or blur filter.
In addition, it allows couples to stay in constant contact with features such as check-in or mood status. You can also save your posts digitally. Then you can take notes on it and share them wherever you want. But Tuned will be offline from September 19.
