Meta, the latest VR headset, Meta Quest 3, has been officially unveiled. Priced at $499, the Quest 3 aims to open a new door in the world of VR with its advanced display and superior features.
Is it worth buying the Meta Quest 3?
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared a post on Instagram, revealing the Meta Quest 3 for the first time. It is stated to be the “most powerful VR headset” to date and will be powered by a Snapdragon processor developed in collaboration with Qualcomm.
The new chipset is expected to deliver more than double the performance of the previous Quest 2 model. With enhanced processing power, users will be able to enjoy highly detailed environments in virtual reality.
In addition to performance, Meta has made a series of changes to the display for long-term usage. The Quest 3 will feature optics that are 40% thinner compared to the previous model, making it both lighter and more comfortable.
The company has also redesigned the controllers, called Touch Plus. Advancements in hand tracking technology have allowed for the removal of external rings, resulting in controllers that take up less space in the user’s hand.
It should be noted that all technical details about the Meta Quest 3 are currently unclear. However, its official announcement prior to the AR/VR headset expected to be unveiled by Apple at WWDC 2023 is quite noteworthy. Additionally, its $499 price tag has sparked curiosity.
