Meta Vibes platform has received intense criticism

Ana sayfa / News

Meta has launched a new short video feed called “Vibes” with the aim of reshaping the social media experience with artificial intelligence (AI). Accessible through the Meta AI app and meta.ai, this new feature offers a similar experience to TikTok or Instagram Reels, but unlike them, all content is entirely AI-generated. This has drawn criticism from some users who are overwhelmed by AI-driven content.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Vibes in a post on his Instagram account. The promotional videos feature AI-generated scenes, such as furry creatures jumping on cubes, a cat kneading dough, and a woman taking a selfie from her balcony in ancient Egypt.

According to Meta, the new feed will feature AI-generated videos from both creators and users. Over time, the algorithm will begin to deliver personalized content to users.

Vibes allows users to recreate or remix existing videos. Users can add new visuals and customize videos by adding music and style layers before publishing. Created content can be uploaded directly to the Vibes feed, sent as a message, or shared to Reels/Stories on Instagram and Facebook.

Alexandr Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, announced that they collaborated with AI image creators like Midjourney and Black Forest Labs for the early release of the feature.

However, user reaction to the new feed hasn’t been particularly positive. Comments on Zuckerberg’s post revealed many users expressing their criticisms and reactions.
