Microsoft Competes with DLSS and FSR: Here Are Performance Tests!

Ana sayfa / News

The first performance tests for Microsoft’s Auto Super Resolution (Auto SR), announced a few months ago as a potential alternative to Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR technologies, have now emerged. According to these reports, it seems that Microsoft has a long way to go.

Auto SR, which Microsoft announced recently, currently requires hardware with an integrated GPU from a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor. The AI-powered ‘upscale’ technology, which derives its power from Copilot Plus, supports only limited hardware and games at present.

Tests conducted by Digital Foundry on the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 and various games show that this technology is not yet at a level to compete with notable ‘upscale’ technologies, including DLSS.

One of the significant issues with Auto SR noted in the reviews is its struggle with high-resolution text-based visuals. This means you may encounter various problems even while navigating a game’s main menu.

Zoom rivals Google Docs and Microsoft Word

Zoom rivals Google Docs and Microsoft Word with its new word processing tool Zoom Docs. Here are the details!!!

Additionally, while the technology shows promising results, examples like Cyberpunk 2077 demonstrate that you might end up playing at nearly 10 FPS due to the integrated GPU requirement.

In summary, it’s prudent not to expect miracles from Auto SR at this stage. Although the technology seems promising, it currently does not match up to any notable competitors in the market.
