Ever since Microsoft rolled out Copilot to Windows 10 Insiders in November 2023, it has been dealing with icon alignment issues in multi-monitor setups. The company has finally released the long-awaited patch for Windows 10 users.
How is the Windows 10 Copilot bug resolved?
In late November 2023, many Windows 10 users experienced desktop icon misalignment after installing Copilot. The issue was particularly common in multi-monitor setups, and Microsoft applied a compatibility lock that prevented Copilot from being installed in certain configurations.
For Windows 11 users, the issue was resolved with a server-side patch released in January 2024, but for Windows 10 users, the fix has only just arrived.
After nearly seven months of waiting, Microsoft finally released a preview update on June 25, 2024. This update offers the possibility to install Copilot on Windows 10 version 22H2 devices. After installing this update, users can use Copilot seamlessly in multi-monitor setups. There will be no desktop icon relocation or alignment issues after the update.
Separately, the Windows 11 KB5039302 update released on June 25, 2024 contains several issues for some users. These issues include problems such as the taskbar not working and constant system reboots.
