Microsoft has officially declared war on Google: Why?

Ana sayfa / Technology

The cloud wars between Microsoft and Google have reached a new level. Recent statements by Microsoft’s legal counsel Rima Alaily have stirred the tech world… According to Alaily, Google is employing a ‘sneaky’ strategy to undermine Microsoft’s public reputation.

Microsoft Sues Google!

According to Microsoft, the centerpiece of this strategy is the ‘Open Cloud Coalition’ (OCC), an organization that appears independent but is allegedly directed by Google behind the scenes. So far, OCC has only 10 members.

Members of the coalition include Google Cloud, as well as UK-based Centerprise, Civo, Clairo AI, and the Spanish company Gigas. OCC claims its goal is to promote open standards and eliminate restrictive licensing practices that hinder competition…

However, Microsoft labels the coalition a fake grassroots movement. Alaily claims a company that refused to join OCC confirmed the organization is funded by Google and aimed at targeting Microsoft’s cloud operations in the EU and the UK.

Behind the scenes of this tension, Google’s recent antitrust investigations are also said to play a significant role. Microsoft argues that Google is targeting competitors as part of a strategy to strengthen its cloud services.
