Microsoft has put final nail in Windows Phone coffin!

Ana sayfa / Technology

We know that Microsoft made a quick entry into the mobile world and then pulled out of the market after it failed. While it already has several smartphones like the Android-based Surface Duo, it can’t do more than integrate Windows and Android. Finally, the app store for Windows 10 Mobile has reportedly been shut down.

Microsoft has quietly shut down the Windows 10 Mobile App Store. Users have reported that important parts of the App Store, such as the home page, app pages and app details, no longer load.

Microsoft actually ended its official support for Windows 10 Mobile in December 2019. However, this meant that the devices would not receive updates. Although the App Store will continue to work for a while, it seems that Microsoft has completely withdrawn its mobile services.

Vivo’s X100 breaks sales record before announcement

Vivo's pre-order smartphone Vivo X100 has achieved a significant sales success. Here are the details...

Launched in 2015, the Lumia 950 series was the first device to run on W10 Mobile. However, Microsoft struggled to gain significant market share in the mobile space dominated by Android and iOS. Eventually, it shifted its focus to artificial intelligence and computing.

On the other hand, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently admitted that Windows Phone could have been handled better. Explaining that they lost 7.6 billion dollars because of Nokia, the CEO said that the missteps in the mobile field were taken with previous executives.

Despite discontinuing Windows Phone, Microsoft continues to invest in the mobile space with Android apps. For example, the Surface Duo series is an Android device, while Office applications can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store.
