Technology giant Microsoft has been dealing with employee rights issues in California for a while. The California Department of Civil Rights found the definitive solution to the incident. Microsoft, on the other hand, agreed to pay a penalty of $14 million. So what rights did Microsoft violate?

The process that has been going on between Microsoft and its employees for a long time has come to an end with a penalty. Microsoft, which was examined during the process by the California Department of Civil Rights, was allegedly violating employees’ leave rights. Microsoft, which is said to disregard the leave rights of women and disabled people in particular, allegedly victimizes its employees in terms of promotions and rewards.

It was revealed that the payments of the specified employees were reduced and promotion opportunities were blocked in the company, where it was determined that those who took leave for parenthood, disability, pregnancy and family care since 2017 received low performance evaluation scores. Microsoft rejected this situation in the agreement text and stated that employees were allowed to take leave when needed.

Nevertheless, Microsoft, which agreed to pay a penalty of 14.4 million dollars in the agreement with the California Department of Civil Rights, is doing its best to compensate for the grievances of its employees. Microsoft, which aims to solve the problems of employees who claim to have been victimized since 2017, will apparently make a large payment.

The department, which has recently reached an agreement with companies such as Riot Games, Activision and Snap on such issues, has now resolved the problem within Microsoft. Let’s see if Microsoft will face such an accusation again in the future.
