Minisforum DEG2 eGPU dock brings Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink together

Ana sayfa / Computers

Minisforum has officially launched the DEG2, its next-gen external GPU dock that blends Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink connectivity in one box something most eGPU docks still don’t attempt. Building on the success of the DEG1, this new model doesn’t just aim for speed, it adds modular storage, faster networking, and better charging, all while keeping compatibility at the forefront.

Unlike some docks that force you to choose, the Minisforum DEG2 keeps OCuLink and adds two Thunderbolt 5 ports. Each Thunderbolt port supports 80 Gbps, with one offering up to 140W power delivery enough to charge most laptops without a hitch. The second port offers 30W, fine for accessories or lighter hardware.

OCuLink still delivers the same raw 64 Gbps bandwidth via PCIe 4.0 x4 making it a favorite for gamers and creators chasing bare-metal performance without the latency hit common in Thunderbolt chains.

Lenovo may delay laptops in 2026 as DRAM prices soar

Lenovo may delay laptop launches in 2026 as DRAM prices surge 45%, driving notebook costs up and shrinking new model availability.

Minisforum didn’t stop at ports. The DEG2 also includes an M.2 2280 SSD slot, letting users expand local storage right inside the dock. It also gains a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port for fast wired networking, plus USB Type-A ports on each side for extra accessories.

The DEG2 is priced at $299, though early buyers can grab it for $239.90 during the pre-order phase. Minisforum plans to ship in early January 2026, with availability in major markets including the US, Eurozone, Canada, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.

For those who need maximum GPU throughput and want the flexibility of modern I/O, the DEG2 is shaping up to be one of the most versatile docks on the market bridging performance and usability without backing you into a corner.
