MoaanFly colour e-reader blends Android power with stylus precision

Ana sayfa / News

The MoaanFly colour e-reader is blurring the line between traditional e-readers and full-fledged tablets. With Android 14 onboard, a pressure-sensitive stylus, and a battery-boosting cover, it’s aiming at readers who want more than just books.

Unlike closed-off e-reader platforms, the MoaanFly runs Android 14 with full Play Store access. That means you can install apps beyond reading tools, from productivity software to note-taking apps. Still, not every Android app is ideal for e-ink. Apps that rely on fast refresh rates, like video or gaming, won’t feel at home here.

EcoFlow Trail power stations land in Europe with ultra-compact designs

EcoFlow Trail portable power stations, including the Trail 200 DC and 300 DC, are launching soon in Europe with compact designs and powerful outputs.

MoaanFly doesn’t cut corners on performance. It’s powered by a Rockchip RK3566 processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The 7-inch Kaleido 3 display offers a resolution of 1,264 x 1,680, though colour mode does reduce effective sharpness. Brightness and colour warmth are both adjustable, helping reduce eye strain during long sessions.

One standout feature is the power system. The tablet has a 1,200 mAh battery, but on top of that, the included magnetic cover adds another 1,950 mAh via a pogo pin connection. Combined, they offer extended use without constantly reaching for a charger.

The e-reader supports stylus input with 4,096 pressure levels, making it a solid option for sketching or handwritten notes. While the stylus is sold separately, it’s designed to work seamlessly with the device and complements its digital paper vibe.

Right now, the MoaanFly colour e-reader is available via Kickstarter for an early-bird price of $299. That’s well below competitors like the Boox Note Air4 C. Even so, buyers should always approach crowdfunding with care. Shipping policies, taxes, and delivery timelines can vary, and there’s always a risk when backing a product that hasn’t hit retail yet.

E-ink just got a brain. And maybe a bit of flair.
