NetherRealm Studios unveiled the gameplay trailer for Invincible’s Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 at NYCC 2023 and confirmed a November 2023 release. Omni-Man is the headliner of Kombat Pack 1, available separately or in the MK 1 Premium Edition.
Mortal Kombat 1 trailer showcases Omni-Man’s moves
At Skybound’s 20th anniversary panel at NYCC, Invincible series creators Robert Kirkman and Ed Boon emphasized that every aspect of Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 was taken from the series’ source material. Omni-Man also appeared in the Invincible Season 2 trailer, raising concerns about his influence on Mark Grayson.
Omni-Man’s release coincides with cameo fighter Tremor and will be the first character in a fighter pack featuring Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Takeda Takahashi and Homelander. Additional cameo fighters such as Ferra, Johnny Cage, Chameleon and Mavado are also on the horizon.
If you’d like, you can watch a direct comparison between Omni-Man’s iconic moments in Invincible and the versions added to Mortal Kombat 1 in the X-post above. Netherrealm’s single-player story mode looks really good, but the new Invasions mode is a bit of a grind.
The features added to the game for the online mode also feel a bit dated. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
