Motorola launches Moto X40 with powerful specs

Today, Motorola launched two new Android smartphones in China. The new devices come with high-performance hardware and reasonable prices. While the new Moto X40 is a member of the premium X-series, Moto G53 could be the cheapest phone that has 5G connectivity. Motorola doesn’t announce its new X40 devices as a “pro“, but it could take its place in powerful devices with its specs. Here are the details about Moto X40.

Moto X40 is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The tech giant launched the new Moto X40 with powerful specifications, including the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 165Hz display. With these specs, the new smartphone could be a challenging candidate in the Android phone market, especially in China. Even though the new device is launching in China, for now, the Moto X40 can be available in the rest of the world soon.

On the display side, Motorola used a 6.7-inch screen with a diagonal and 1,080 x 2,400px resolution. While the panel is a 10-bit panel with HDR10+ support and DC dimming, the new phone is also Motorola’s first phone with a 165Hz display. The device has the powerful Adreno 740 GPU in addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The X40 comes with a 4,600mAh battery that supports 125W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. In terms of camera, the new device has a 50-megapixel main, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. For selfies, the device has a 60-megapixel camera.

The Motorola Moto X40 is now available for pre-order in China right now, the company is to start shipping on December 22. The base 8/128GB model costs CNY 3,400 while the 8/256GB model costs CNY 3,700. The 12/256GB model has a CNY 4,000 price tag, and the 12/512GB model has a CNY 4,300 price tag.
