Although Motorola usually launches affordable flagship Android phones and clamshell foldables, it also has an affordable phone series, Moto G. The phone manufacturer released several new Moto G phones in 2022, but it hasn’t launched the Play series for about two years. Finally, the brand announced the new Moto G Play (2023) with affordable price and average specs. Here are the details about Moto G Play 2023.
Moto G Play (2023) comes with 2021 specs
Motorola cannot be said that it has been successful on this device. While the phones with 8 GB of RAM and higher specs are popular, the brand launches the new Moto G Play with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Of course, the tech company aims to produce an affordable device in the US, but we will see whether customers will be happy or not.
The second-gen G Play comes with a 6.5-inch IPS TFT LCD with HD+ (720 x 1600) resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. In terms of performance, the device features a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable. In fact, these specs are the same as the previous generation of the Moto G Play, except for the 90Hz refresh rate support.
On the camera side, the phone has a 16-megapixel main camera with an aperture of f/1.22 and pixel size of 1.0µm, a 2-megapixel macro, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. Also, the new G Play includes a 5,000mAh battery which is claimed to last up to three days on a single charge, but its charging speed is just 10W.
The new Moto G Play (2023) will be available on January 12th on Amazon, Best Buy, and the company’s own website with the $170 price tag.
