MSI has announced its new gaming monitor, the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50. This model features a 27-inch WQHD resolution, a 500Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms response time. It stands out as the first QD-OLED display capable of real-time human detection.
MSI Announces AI Gaming Monitor
The monitor’s most striking feature is MSI’s OLED Care 3.0 system. This system, with its built-in NPU-based AI Care sensor and always-on CMOS sensor, detects user presence every 0.2 seconds. If no user is detected, the monitor automatically shuts down or activates panel protection mode.
This feature both saves energy and extends the panel’s life. Furthermore, the panel protection period has been increased from 16 hours to 24 hours under continuous use. All of this detection occurs locally within the monitor, with no data sent to the cloud.
As for the specifications, the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 offers a 500Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response time, along with a low input lag of up to 1.5ms. The monitor is VESA ClearMR 21000 certified, ensuring motion clarity.
It also carries DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for deep contrast and vibrant HDR visuals. MSI’s EOTF Boost technology optimizes HDR performance out of the box and requires no additional calibration.
MSI has not yet officially announced the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50’s pricing and availability. However, when the monitor was first unveiled at Computex, rumors surfaced that it would cost around $900.
