MSI just added another solid option to the budget OLED monitor scene. The newly launched MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 has landed in North America, priced at an aggressive $499.99. It’s a 1440p display with a blazing 240 Hz refresh rate and a few extras that make it stand out, especially for gamers who want premium features without breaking the bank.

Like its slightly older sibling, the MAG 274QP, this new model uses MSI’s Gen 3 QD-OLED panel tech. That means you get deep contrast, near-instant response times, and rich color coverage out of the box. It supports 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and has earned DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification though peak brightness is capped at 400 nits in HDR and 200 nits in SDR, which is modest compared to higher-end models.

But the panel specs are still strong for the price. The monitor boasts:

Where the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 really makes a mark is in its connectivity. MSI has added a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15 W Power Delivery, making it easier for hybrid setups involving laptops, consoles, or USB-C hubs. The monitor also includes:

That’s a welcome upgrade over the MAG 274QP, which lacks the USB-C support. Add a fully adjustable stand and MSI’s updated OLED care suite, and you’re looking at a well-rounded midrange display.

While it doesn’t aim for peak brightness, the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 focuses on what most gamers actually need: fast response, accurate color, and versatile ports. For $499, you’re getting an OLED that’s not just playable but future-ready with just enough pro features to make it more than a one-trick gaming panel.
