Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov clashed over the Tesla Cybertruck. The Chechen leader, who bought Cybertruck even though it is not officially sold in Russia, modified his vehicle. However, Musk, who did not like this modification, disabled the vehicle’s software.

Kadyrov had previously claimed that Musk had gifted him a Cybertruck and posted a video of him driving the weaponized vehicle on the streets of Russia. The vehicle was allegedly sent to the front line to support Chechen troops.

However, Musk denied that he had gifted the vehicle to Kadyrov and posted a statement on social media saying, “Are you stupid enough to think I would give a Cybertruck to a Russian general?”

Bosch to close electric motor factory in Germany

Bosch is reviewing the future of its electric vehicle engine factory in Germany. Here are the details.

Kadyrov reacted by claiming that Tesla remotely disabled the Cybertruck after serving on the frontline. He said Musk’s move was cowardly. He also criticized the remote disabling of a vehicle sent to dangerous areas by the manufacturer.

Tesla can remotely control its cars through software. Tesla’s rationale for disabling the vehicle in this case is not yet clear. However, it is noteworthy that it happened at a time of heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia.

This dispute also raises questions about the ownership and modification of electric vehicles. Of course, Musk and Tesla have yet to make an official statement on Kadyrov’s latest allegations.
