NASA is looking for people to live on Mars!

Ana sayfa / Space

NASA has been conducting research for years to establish a human colony on Mars. The space agency, which has achieved important works together with SpaceX, has recently launched a life simulation program. This program is looking for people to test the Martian environment.

NASA is looking for four people to pretend to live on Mars as part of a habitat simulation study called CHAPEA. The new program launched by the space agency asks you to stay in a structure called Mars Dune Alpha. You have to spend a year inside this 3D-printed structure.

The 160-square-meter living space is similar to the colony base that NASA may one day build on Mars. The volunteers, called “analog astronauts”, will grow plants, test science experiments, exercise daily and follow a schedule similar to astronauts. NASA even said they will simulate walking on Mars in a large sandbox.

Water discovered on asteroid surfaces! What does this mean?

In new findings, scientists discovered water on asteroid surfaces. This is important for the formation of the Earth and our solar system.

In fact, the first tests of CHAPEA started in the past months. NASA, which placed the four-person team in the 3D printed “base”, announced that they have accomplished important work for life on Mars. The latest announcement is looking for four new people for the program.

Candidates who want to apply are required to have a master’s degree and be between the ages of 30-55. After the pre-application, NASA will put the candidates through a medical evaluation and ask them to be completely isolated for two weeks.

The cost of the program has not been announced, but it should be noted that applications will continue until April 2. As NASA prepares for crewed missions to the Red Planet, the simulated mission is scheduled to launch next spring.
