The timeline for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’s timeline has been officially announced. The highly anticipated anime series will pick up where the last video game Shadow of the Tomb Raider, released in 2018, left off. Here are the details…
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will take place in which time period?
The information that the highly anticipated new anime series will take place after Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been officially confirmed by series supervisor Tasha Huo. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will bridge the Survivor Trilogy with the first Tomb Raider game for PlayStation 1. The anime series will premiere on Netflix on October 10th.
Series supervisor Tasha Huo told IGN that the Netflix series will explore the unexplored period between Lara Croft’s 1996 video game and the Survivor Trilogy. “The whole canon was in my head because we were coming from the Survivor franchise, so we needed to honor who Lara Croft was. But we needed to take her back to the games that we all started playing – the early 90s games, where she was a very different person,” he explained, hinting at the series.
With its free-roaming mechanics and strong female protagonist, Tomb Raider was seen as an innovative idea for console gaming. Lara Croft has since become an icon of the action-adventure genre. Very soon, the beloved character will meet her fans again on Netflix screens with a new anime adaptation.
