Netflix originals might not play ads
Netflix’s upcoming ad-supported tier might not have ads on all the content. Lucas Shaw from Bloomberg announced this feature. He also said content for kids on the streaming platform could also be free of ads. Indeed, the company would not show ads during licensed content either because of its current agreements. However, Netflix can play ads before or after the program and get over the agreements.
According to Bloomberg, Netflix might not have ads during original content when they’re first released. The company could insert ads at a later time. That means, you will not see any commercials in the newer original movies, series, and shows. Netflix will not show any commercials to kids because it could bring more trouble. For example, Google paid $170 million for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act after the FTC found YouTube had illegally collected data from kids.
While these developments are still on the process, developer Steve Moser found a code in the Netflix’s app. Moser announced that new ad-supported tier could also block support for offline viewing.
