Directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot, The Wages of Fear is considered one of the best thrillers of the last 50 years. On March 29th, Netflix released the trailer for the new version. So what is the movie about?
The Netflix adaptation is about a team of four carrying nitroglycerin across a dangerous terrain. “An expert team has just 24 hours to drive two trucks loaded with nitroglycerin through the dangerous desert to prevent a deadly explosion,” Netflix said in the description of the movie.
Although it sticks to the original movie as a story, it promises more action thanks to the improvements in visual effects. The cast includes names such as Franck Gastambide, Alban Lenoir and Ana Girardot.
Released in 1953, the movie was about money, greed and people’s trust in each other. Although many of the jokes in the movie are outdated, it is still considered one of the best movies of all time with its suspense scenes.
