Netflix subscribers exceed 280 million
Netflix has received a lot of criticism, especially in the last few years. Many users, especially those in Turkey, think that the platform no longer offers the variety of content it used to and is not worth the subscription fee. But it seems that Netflix is still breaking revenue records.
When we look at Netflix’s financial report, we see that the company generated 9.8 billion dollars in revenue in the quarter. Accordingly, it recorded an annual growth of 15 percent. In addition, 5.07 million new subscribers joined the platform during this quarter.
The company also shared continent-specific information. Accordingly, Netflix gained the most subscribers from the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region. The company, which managed to attract attention with strong content in countries such as Japan, Korea, Thailand and India, gained 2.28 million new users in the region.
Netflix, which gained 694 thousand subscribers in the US and Canada, earned the most revenue from this region. So much so that the company’s revenue increased by 16 percent annually, reaching 4.3 billion. It was reported that the company earned an average of 17.06 dollars from each member.
The company gained 2.2 million subscribers from the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, including Turkey, and lost 68 thousand users in LATAM (Latin America). The reason for this loss is estimated to be price increases and lack of content. However, the company managed to increase its revenue from the region despite this.
