New company from Intel’s senior CPU architects

Ana sayfa /

A group of Intel’s senior CPU architects has taken a significant step forward by launching a new initiative focused on the RISC-V architecture. The new company, called AheadComputing , was founded by four veteran engineers with many years of experience at Intel: Dr. Debbie Marr, Mark Dechene, Jonathan Pearce, and Dr. Srikanth Srinivasan. They have a combined 80+ years of experience at Intel and are credited with many of the company’s major technological advancements.

AheadComputing aims to develop next-generation processors on the RISC-V architecture and to design and license the core IP of these processors. RISC-V has attracted great attention in recent years due to its flexible structure and open-source nature. This new architecture is preferred by many technology companies, especially due to its cost-effectiveness and customizability. AheadComputing will also gain a place in the sector with its innovative solutions in this field.

Intel’s recent spate of major layoffs and brain drain issues has raised questions about the company’s future, and the creation of AheadComputing has further fueled those concerns. The new venture raises questions about how talented engineers leaving Intel will shape the competition in the industry.

The AheadComputing founding team includes individuals who have achieved great success in their careers at Intel and have developed many patents. For example, Dr. Debbie Marr was a key figure in the development of Intel Hyperthreading Technology. This experienced team can achieve similar success in their new ventures.

This development is also of great importance for the future of the RISC-V architecture. How Intel will cope with these losses and what impact AheadComputing will have on the industry will be closely monitored in the coming period. What do you think?
