Apple has been on the agenda with foldable iPhone claims for a while. The company, which received test screens from companies such as BOE, LG and Samsung, has not yet encountered the results it expected. As a result, it turned out that the first foldable model would be delayed.
Foldable iPhone left until early 2027
According to multiple reports from South Korean analytics firms, Apple has delayed work on its first foldable iPhone. In this context, it moved the release of the foldable iPhone from late 2026 to early 2027. This means it could be delayed by a quarter.
Sources familiar with the company’s product plans said Apple is testing standards for durability, user experience and design. It was stated that the technology giant had technical difficulties in finding a foldable screen.
Apple has been working on foldable prototypes for some time. But it is still in the early stages of development. Previous prototypes have revealed screens ranging from 6 to 7 inches. We also know that it has tested portrait and landscape foldable designs with a main display of around 8 inches.
But foldable screen technology has not yet reached the level that could meet Apple’s standards. Analysts said Apple would hesitate to launch a foldable device if the experience doesn’t match standard smartphones.
The 2027 foldable device signals that Apple will be late to the market for a while. However, it is possible to say that the company does not want to risk the phone in terms of flexibility and longevity.
