According to Apple insider Mark Gurman, the Apple Reality Pro mixed reality headset will be launched at a spring event ahead of WWDC. No exact date has yet been given, but the headset will not be available immediately. According to Gurman, Reality Pro will only go on sale towards the end of the year, making it particularly notable in 2024.

Apple is preparing an augmented reality-based App Store for the Reality Pro headset

Apple seems to be opening up the time between the introduction of the device and its release to increase the app/game/content options. According to some claims, the model has already started shipping to some developers. It is rumored that the company will make important announcements at WWDC 2023 for the product’s xrOS operating system and other software basis. Apple attaches great importance to this product.

It is rumored that Apple is delaying the development of iOS 17 just for this product. It is also rumored that the company is preparing an augmented reality-based App Store. There will be small motors in the model and these will automatically adjust the lenses/optics inside according to the wearer.

Reality Pro will have a rotatable button on the side, which will offer quick switching between real and virtual views. With this button, people will be able to see the surroundings at any time without removing the headset. The headset with the built-in speaker will come with the H2 chip, which is also included in AirPods Pro. Thanks to this chip, low-latency transmission will be provided between the headset and the headphones.

Contrary to what was previously rumored, it looks like there will be a changeable headband design. The Apple Reality Pro mixed reality headset will offer a 120-degree viewing angle. It can also be used with magnetically attached numbered lenses for those who wear glasses.
