New details of Apple’s mixed-reality headset keep coming

According to the most recent claims, Apple’s mixed reality headset is set to enter mass production in March 2023. The product is expected to be introduced in the first quarter of the year, giving software developers some time before release. Apple’s mixed-reality headset will feature a physical dial for switching to a view of the real-world, a waist-mounted battery pack, and small motors to automatically adjust its lenses. Also, the model will have small motors that will automatically adjust the lenses inside according to the wearer. It will have a swivel button on the side, which will offer a quick switch between real and virtual views. With this button, people will be able to see the surroundings at any time without removing the headset. Apple mixed reality headset will have a built-in speaker and will come with the H2 chip, which is also included in AirPods Pro. Thanks to this chip, low-latency transmission will be provided between the headset and the headphones.

Contrary to what was previously rumored, the headset does not adopt a changeable headband design. The headband will offer a 120-degree viewing angle and can be used with magnetically attached prescription lenses for glasses wearers. But Apple will most likely sell these through special deals in certain markets.

There will be a screen with a low refresh rate on the outside of the device. Thanks to this screen, the facial expressions of the person wearing the headset will be visible to those around them. Equipped with multiple cameras for this and environmental scanning, the headset will offer a total of 8K resolution (4K per eye) on its main screen from Sony.

It will also offer high performance with two different processors from the 5 nm production process. In addition, Apple has allegedly discussed pricing the headset at around $3,000 or more depending on its configuration. This price is not a big surprise considering the hardware features.
