This is how Nothing OS 3.0 will look like
Carl Pei has shared screenshots showing that Nothing OS 3.0 will offer more customizable lock screen options. Besides the default view showing the time, date and day, users will also be able to add widgets. Various information such as weather, shortcuts and contacts will be visible on the lock screen.
The Expanded Widget Space mode allows for multiple widgets with a large tile showing the date. This suggests that Nothing devices will offer an Always On display-style experience on the lock screen.
The CEO also shared the “Interactive Dot Animation” feature, which will feature three interactive layers. This three-dot layer will offer dynamic animations in response to touches and gestures on the screen.
Full details on Nothing OS 3.0 are expected to be officially announced in September. The update is likely to be available for Nothing Phone (1) as well as Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition.
The new software update looks like it will expand the stock Android experience in new ways. It is also thought that the update will be based on Android 14.
