Apple announced iOS 17 operating system during the WWDC 2023 event in early June. Along with it, iOS 17 brought many new features to iPhone users. This time, the company is taking steps to improve the user experience. One of the features introduced with iOS 17 is called “Screen Distance.” So, what does the Screen Distance feature do? Here are the details!
The Screen Distance feature reduces eye strain!
Apple, which announced iOS 17 with its event at the beginning of this month, also brings many new features. It seems like the company has focused on improving the user experience rather than making significant changes this year. One of these features that is not talked about much is the Screen Distance feature.
This feature alerts users when they keep their phone too close to their eyes for a long time. Therefore, the Screen Distance feature is particularly relevant to users who hold their phones very close to their eyes while using them. The company states that the feature helps reduce the risk of myopia in children.
Furthermore, keeping the phone too close to the eyes for an extended period can lead to eye strain. With the Screen Distance feature, Apple believes that this issue will be eliminated. The feature utilizes the TrueDepth camera system known as Face ID to measure the distance between the user’s eyes and the device.
Additionally, the camera will only be used to measure the distance between the screen and your eyes and will not capture any photos or videos throughout the day. All iPhones that support iOS 17 will have this feature. So, how can you enable the Screen Distance feature?
