Harry Potter fans are excited about a brand new version of Hogwarts Legacy, but this time expectations may be a little different. According to the latest information, the new version, called Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition, will be available as a separate downloadable content (DLC) for those who already own the game. This could be both welcome and disappointing for many players.
Additional content is being considered for Hogwarts Legacy
The Definitive Edition will offer approximately 10-15 hours of additional content. This will include a new main story quest, side quests, various events and new outfits. Following the success of the game, this expansion will give players a chance to dive back into the world of Hogwarts. However, those who have already purchased the game will have to pay again for this additional content. The price range is expected to be between 20 and 30 dollars.
Warner Bros. is reportedly gearing up to release this new version of the game in order to recover from declining gaming revenues, especially after the poor performance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Considering that Hogwarts Legacy has sold over 24 million copies since its release in 2023, this new version is expected to be met with great interest.
However, some players may be disappointed that additional content will be added to the existing game, instead of expecting a completely new game. Although there is no concrete information about the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy for now, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels has stated that this project is an important priority for the studio. So we will have to wait a little longer for the sequel.
All in all, the Definitive Edition is an attractive option for those who want to return to the world of Hogwarts, but for those expecting a new game, this news may be a bit disappointing.
