New indie games spotlight: magical farming, cat museums, and more

Nintendo’s latest Indie World showcase brought a wave of new indie games to Switch, Switch 2, and beyond. Some titles landed instantly on the eShop, while others teased upcoming release dates for eager fans.

UFO 50, already a critical favorite on PC, is now on Switch. Poti Poti Studio’s Is This Seat Taken? joined the lineup, blending puzzling with personality-driven seating arrangements. It’s available on Steam, iOS, and Android. Ball x Pit, a Breakout-style roguelite, is set for October, and Mina the Hollower will hit both Switch generations alongside its PC launch this Halloween.

Neverway, a dark life-sim from Celeste’s pixel artist and Murder Engine’s creator, is heading to Switch in 2026. Caves of Qud, a cult sci-fi roguelike with thousands of glowing reviews, is coming as a Switch console exclusive later this year.

The International Game Developers Association and partners have launched Port Quest. This initiative gives studios with proven monthly revenue a chance to bring their hits to mobile with veteran guidance and workshops. Applications close September 15.

Spellgarden Games’ Ritual of Raven, billed as a farming sim with magical tarot-powered automation, debuted on Switch and Steam. Valhalla Cats dropped Kimchi: A Stars in the Trash Story for free on Steam and Itch.io, letting players explore a feline museum. Turbo Kid, a gory Metroidvania, made its Switch debut alongside a PC update.

Out and About, a foraging adventure, launches August 11 after a brief delay. Rogue Labyrinth, with Zelda-inspired visuals, arrives September 1. Adventure of Samsara lands September 4, Autumn with the Shiba Inu releases August 14, and the surreal Concierge hits September 15. There’s even a pilsner-hunting comedy sequel, Dude, Where Is My Beer? A New Hop, with a demo now on Steam.
