Those eagerly awaiting the new MacBooks can start getting excited for the soon-to-be-released M4 MacBook Pro models. Renowned display analyst Ross Young has revealed that the screen panels for the 14-inch and 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro were shipped to Apple in July and August. This indicates that Apple is preparing to unveil the next generation of M4 MacBook Pro models. Here are the details…
New Apple M4 MacBook Pro Models Are Coming: Screen Panels Are on Their Way
The new MacBook Pro models will feature Apple’s next-generation M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max processors. The 14-inch base model will be equipped with the M4 chip, while the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch models will be powered by the M4 Pro and M4 Max processors. These processors are expected to significantly raise the bar in performance.
In addition to the MacBook Pro, Apple plans to update its Mac mini and iMac series with the M4 processors. Notably, the Mac mini is expected to undergo a major redesign and is rumored to be the smallest computer Apple has ever produced. It is said to be similar in size to an Apple TV, but slightly taller.
The Apple M4 processor is built using a second-generation 3nm process and contains a whopping 28 billion transistors. Comprising 4 large and 6 small cores, this processor offers up to 50% faster CPU performance compared to the M2. Additionally, its 10-core GPU delivers a 4x increase in rendering performance and brings features like dynamic caching, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and hardware-accelerated mesh shading to the iPad. In other words, these devices will not only be powerful but also highly versatile.
Apple is expected to launch the new MacBook Pro models toward the end of 2024. What are your thoughts? Do you think the M4-powered MacBook Pros will meet your expectations? How do you feel about the redesign of the Mac mini? Share your opinions in the comments below.
