BYD Seal 06 technical specs announced
BYD Seal 06 was shared by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is 4830 mm long, 1875 mm wide and 1495 mm high. In this context, the vehicle is expected to be between the Seal and Seal DM-i models.
Seal 06 features a gasoline engine producing 74kW power. The vehicle also has an engine with 120kW or 160kW electric power. Both variants are said to have a speed of 180 km/h. The vehicle will feature a 10kWh and 16kWh battery option with an electric range of 60 km and 90 km.
Seal 06 also has some differences in design. It will give up the boomerang headlights of other Seal models and will feature L-shaped headlights. The rear chassis will be large, similar to the Seal DM-i. Weight is between 1660 kg and 1775 kg, depending on the powertrain.
The Seal 06 plug-in hybrid model is expected to be launched next year. It is thought that this model will only target the user base between the internal combustion Seal and the Seal DM-i. Pricing details are unclear.
BYD continues to lead the market by producing more than 3 million new electric + hybrid cars in 2023. Leaving Tesla behind for the second year in a row, the Chinese manufacturer announced that it shipped 1.6 million electric and 1.4 million plug-in hybrids.
