Dan Trachtenberg, the genius behind 20th Century Studios’ Prey, the prequel to 2022’s Predator, has rolled up his sleeves for a sequel. It turns out that the new Predator movie is in development and even has a name.
The new Predator movie will be called ‘Badlands’
Details about the plot of Badlands remain tightly under wraps. Production is scheduled to begin later this year. Building on the success of Prey, the film will further deepen the Predator universe under Trachtenberg’s talents.
While exact release plans for Badlands have yet to be confirmed, the precedent set by 20th Century Studios’ recent efforts suggests a potentially large budget for Badlands.
In addition to Badlands, Trachtenberg’s impressive repertoire includes directing acclaimed projects such as 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Boys pilot and Black Mirror. His versatility and proven ability to captivate audiences bodes well for Badlands.
Starring iconic actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers (who recently passed away) and Jesse Ventura, the Predator franchise left an indelible mark on pop culture, spawning three sequels and captivating audiences for generations.
