Just like in the smartphone market, there is intense competition in the smartwatch market as well. Companies constantly renew their smartwatch models each year, adding numerous new features to these devices. Important information has started to surface about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 model as well.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 promises enhanced performance
Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy Watch 6 model with a new processor. Instead of the Exynos W920 used in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5, Samsung will switch to the Exynos W930 with its new processor, which has surfaced prior to its launch.
The new processor, which appeared with the code name Exynos “S5E5515” in Bluetooth SIG, a regulatory body for Bluetooth-equipped products, promises better performance. The processor, previously said to be named “W980,” is expected to deliver an approximately 10% performance increase for the Galaxy Watch 6 series.
The leak also reveals that the new smartwatch will be compatible with Bluetooth 5.3. Although we don’t have much information about the new processor, it is increasingly being suggested that it is simply a revision of the W920. The fact that the Galaxy Watch 5 also offers Bluetooth 5.3 support strengthens these claims. It’s worth noting that both processors share the model number S5E5515.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic alongside its new foldable screen smartphones in July. The smartwatch, which is said to provide better performance with the new Exynos W930 processor, will also draw attention with its Classic version. The Classic model will feature the iconic rotating bezel seen in the brand’s previous smartwatches.
As the smartwatch market heats up, Samsung aims to take the lead in the race with the Galaxy Watch 6 model. It remains to be seen what kind of performance the new Exynos W930 processor will deliver for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. What are your thoughts on Samsung smartwatch models and Exynos processors?
