With the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) just around the corner, the community of gamers has helped Red Dead Redemption 2 break records on Steam. As anticipation grows for the GTA 6 trailer scheduled for release next month, the open world wild west-themed Red Dead Redemption 2 has reached its highest player count to date on Steam.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews Red Dead Redemption 2 received upon its initial release, it failed to reach the enduring popularity of its Rockstar Games counterpart GTA 5. However, recent data from Steam Charts indicates a notable resurgence in player engagement, with the game recording an all-time high of 77,335 players. This figure surpasses the previous peak recorded in January of the same year, which reached 70,787 players.

It’s worth noting that the Steam player count doesn’t take into account numbers from Rockstar’s launcher or the Epic Games Store version of Red Dead Redemption 2. As a result, the data may not accurately represent the total number of PC players. However, the increase in Steam players is a noteworthy development for the game.

Google is in chaos as user data suddenly disappeared

Google Drive users claim their data has disappeared. Thousands of files in cloud storage have disappeared.

The surge in player activity is attributed to the game price cut on Steam. The regular edition is currently 67% off, while the Ultimate Edition has a 70% price cut. It’s clear that such significant price cuts are luring players back to the immersive world of the wild west and contributing to the increase in player numbers.

While it remains unclear exactly when the GTA 6 trailer will be released, speculation points to The Game Awards as a potential platform for the highly anticipated reveal, promising an exciting month for fans of the famed game developer.
