In the new German-made series, Peri Baumeister will play Paula, an astronaut who goes missing after returning from the International Space Station. The main character’s husband Sven and daughter Charlie will search for Paula to find out what happened to the rocket that came to Earth.
The family’s search will take a dangerous turn as they find more clues about what Paula may have discovered during her time in space. What Paula found in space and how it relates to her disappearance will be explored throughout the series.
The cryptic trailer released by Netflix hints at deep emotional stakes while conveying the excitement of the exploration. Viewers will watch the astronauts’ internal struggle between exploring in space and staying with loved ones on Earth.
Consisting of four one-hour episodes, The Signal follows in the footsteps of acclaimed sci-fi series such as The Expanse. Netflix also promises viewers a visual feast with images showing the charm of space.
